These are very trying and to some extent worrying times.  Two of the pillars of investing seem to have crumbled, somewhat, Real Estate and Stocks and Shares so as we look to the future what is a good way to invest, what should we invest in?  My thought on that is we should invest in ourselves, the greatest investment of all.

Information Technology has never been more needed and jobs in IT are not suffering from the downturns elsewhere.  There may be short-term effects such as if we are working in the Automobile Industry in IT yet even there I feel salvation lies in intelligently applying IT to wrest production increases and product innovation from day to day operations.  The education system here in the USA has been lacking in producing enough local talent to fill the growing IT needs and his is where we should take the matter into our own hands and invest in expanding our own knowledge.  By making ourselves more relevant we also make ourselves more valuable and I believe improve our feeling of well-being.
