Remember At All times - You Will Need To Scale Up

I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to present at many software conferences around the world. Similarly, I have had the opportunity to help clients design and roll out applications which we engineer, at the outset to scale; this last aspect is a mind-set which we should all have. Almost all applications will need to scale and I have been brought in so many times to help clients who hit a wall trying to do so, largely speaking because their development team were not helped to think about scaling up.
It is far easier if we simply have that mind set from day one, all of us involved in software development, in fact, in my opinion it is imperative that we all have that mind set. With that in mind and thanks to Marc Esher, This blog post, by Alex Payne, related to thoughts on Node.JS and scaling up applications has some really excellent pointers.
