DotCom Bubble Hangover? No It's Good For CF

I was pleasantly surprised the other day to see a company based in Los Angeles seeking a Senior ColdFusion Developer on CF-Jobs. That is not what surprised me, it was actually the fact that they were prepared to pay for relocation and also offered a signing-on bonus. To me that has definite echoes back to the DotCom craziness however, I am sure, of course, that no such thing will happen or is happening. I think it is simply that the fact that demand is increasing for CF developers because CF is increasing it's market share, I know Adobe had a really good 4th quarter of 2007 with CF8 racking up very brisk sales, the best for a long time.
Another thing which caught my attention on CF-Jobs is that eBay are looking for a CF developer. During my time at Allaire I actually went to eBay a couple of times. At that time they had a back-office application running on CF which they wanted to cluster. They had also fairly recently acquired half.com which at the time was using CF as its platform.

Just adding a comment to my own blog piece here, I also just found out that VMWare uses ColdFusion also.
