Does anyone out there know if the Spectra Open Source project still exists and if so where it is?  Also/alternatively, does anyone have a copy of the Spectra open source code, if so would you be prepared to point me to it or send me a copy?

I found this reference on Adobe's site - http://www.adobe.com/products/spectra/ - but the links don't seem to go anywhere. However, I have a copy of Spectra 1.5.3 (Open Source) if you'd like - 29 MB. Contact me to arrange a download from somewhere.

Mike,
Believe it or not but we still have a copy running in production. My boss was a big contributor to the project and still have a hand full of people using it. I will check with him tomorrow on it.

I've looked everywhere and can't find a copy. If you want, I can give you an original copy w/box.

@David, thank you for your comments and offer to let me have a copy. If you can email me at mbrunt at go2ria.net I will give you an ftp address and log-in if that is OK with you.

@Dan, thank you very much for your offer too and that's interesting that you are still running this in production. I was a Spectra specialist at Allaire so that is part of my interest, the other being that I have a friend looking at CMS's but not wanting to use one based heavily on CFC's, for performance and memory usage issues.

@Michael, as always you are ready to assist and as we discussed at CFUnited, along with Ben Forta you have absolutely helped to drive the continued evolution and survival of ColdFusion. We tend to forget that Microsoft have obliterated many stalwarts, Netscape et al, but ColdFusion remains.

Still tinkering with spectra here too, amazes me it still works with CF 8. Go coldfusion...

@Doug, that is interesting to know, I think Spectra was the best CMS based construct I ever dealt with.

@Tom, thank you very much for the link.

I've tried the link TOM provided for two days now on a regular basis but cannot get a connection. Anyone else succed where I failed?

Oops, hitting F5 seems to repost my comment - please disregard or remove ;-)

Oh, and these CAPTCHA's..., I sincerely hate them!!! Please use CFFormProtect (get it for free at RIAForge) - it catches 99,99% of all spam and poses no extra hinderance to users. All bots fail the simple tests it poses and combine it with Akismet and you're as spamfree as ever - without terrorising your users with 'what-does-it-say-here-give-it-your-best guess'-competitions. Sigh ;-)

@Sebatstian I will check that out sorry for vesting CAPTCHA frustrations on you.
