A Wii Dram Of Genius

I was very privileged to present at "A Wee Dram of Scotch" in London, in September, blimey September last year already! So here I sit in Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport, en-route to Milan-Italy, to Heathrow, to Los Angeles; it's a long story. I spent Christmas and the New Year with my daughter, son and grand kids here in England. My grand kids think it is really cool having a geeky granddad.
It is always a challenge knowing what presents to buy, I have six grand kids here and they get so many toys, clothes so one day about 2 months ago, I had an epiphany of sorts. My best friend had been extolling the virtues of the Nintendo Wii and she is not easily impressed, so I knew something was afoot. I did some investigating and soon realized the revolution the Wii will bring to all levels of gaming, actually promoting family playing; remember "the family that plays together...". So I bought both families a Wii for Christmas and what a revelation. Instead of sitting on bums staring intently and imperviously into various different screens I saw my families playing together, bowling, golfing, playing tennis; up off their bottoms; how marvelous that is to see.
My belief is that the Wii is revolutionary and in my professional world, my working world I am going to get very interested in what can be delivered. I may be wrong but I really think the Wii is the first true convergence device, at present that may be nothing more than promise or premise on my part; we will see. Doe anyone else have any thoughts on this?
