Paul Neilsen, the author of SQL Server 2005 Bible pointed out an interesting article showing the history of data storage.  As I have mentioned many times database dependency is the number one dependency we handle in the Web-RIA world so it is good to overview how this evolved.  Here is a quick excerpt...
